When I was in grade school, we used to play soccer in the schoolyard at recess. One time, my friend got a chunk of skin ripped from his shin by a hard tackle. Bone was exposed. We kept playing until the teachers noticed the blood trickling down his leg about 15 minutes later.
I guess what I’m saying is, Dani Alves makes a reasonably strong case for abolishing referees from the modern game.
